My name is Troy Talford and I am an instructor at the High School. I am originally from Durand, Wisconsin (near Eau Claire) and went to college at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls (UW-RF). My degree is a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Education. During my time at UW-RF I also served as a State FFA Vice President (2001-2002). In 2014 I was honored to have been named a Career and Technical Education National Board Certified Teacher. As a part of my college career I spent one semester student teaching in the Holmen High School under Mr. Roger King. Through my experiences there, I hope to bring new ideas and activities to the curriculum here at the Sauk Prairie High School. My parents are Steve & Linda and I have a sister, Becky, and a charming niece, Briella. Much to people’s surprise, I never lived on a farm while growing up, but I am only one generation removed from dairy farming on both sides of my family. I do consider myself closely related to the agricultural industry as I have worked on my uncle’s dairy farm. I have also enjoyed helping my friends back home with their dairy production, sweet corn production, and maple syrup production. Making maple syrup has been, by far, the most rewarding experience for me. The process of making the syrup is one that allows you to work with others, enjoy nature, and see “sweet” results. I look forward to working in the Sauk Prairie School District and encourage any and all community members to check out this website for updated information regarding our program and activities.
